of a Diego Velazquez Velazquez was considered by Salvador Dali as one of the 2 greatest painters of all time (the other painter was Jan VerMeer.) This is a composition that Velazquez did when he was 21 years old- and is a good representation of his early style. Later on Velazquez did even more astounding things- being able to render a person in very few brushstrokes & having it look like THAT person!!!
